BAE and BTT Meet-up – working group for regulation

On Tuesday, 2 April 2019, representatives of Slovenian blockchain companies met at a meeting of the Regulatory Working Group, organized by Blockchain Think Tank Slovenia and Blockchain Alliance Europe, highlighting the legal obstacles and challenges they face in doing business. They have addressed the urgent changes to the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Act (ZZPDFT-1) and specific by-laws that do not allow many fin-tech companies and all digital businesses to compete in the global marketplace. Therefore, it seems to them crucial that the amendments follow the European directive AMLD 5 and be implemented in the Slovenian legal order in such a way that the law does not introduce stricter rules than those envisaged at European level. Regulators must support and encourage innovation as rapid change dictates proactive adaptation.
